Are You Marketing Your Booth Effectively for the Event Planner Expo?

A vital part of your exhibiting success is due to how you market your upcoming presence for The Event Planner Expo. Creating a mini marketing plan can deliver big results! You can promote your presence in several outlets like expo material, social media platforms, your own website, and of course good ole fashioned emails. The point is, you want to keep your presence at the Event Planner Expo known and fresh on the mind of your subscribers.

Knowing the prominence and significant part it plays in driving booth traffic, putting a little thought, energy and imagination into writing an effective post is worth a few minutes of your time.

Regrettably, most exhibitors’ posts look like they just copied and pasted it from a brochure or business plan. Often times, the post is filled with clichés like “competitive prices”, “quality”, “excellent service”, or something about how long they’ve been in business, and other overused phrases that are all too ordinary.

Although it is important that your online posts are clear about what you will be offering at the Event Planner Expo, make sure you’re also informing attendees what they can look forward to at your booth. To make your message powerful and avoid it being overlooked, you have to kick it up a notch…or two.

The key purpose of posting about your attendance as an exhibitor is to give your audience a persuasive reason to stop by your booth. An outstanding strategy is to start your post with a hook that will grab the reader’s attention.

Your first sentence could be a problem-based hook such as:

  • Struggling with…tired of…looking for a solution to...?

Or you could use an opportunity-based hooks like:

  • Curious about…want to know more about…interested in...?

Afterwards, you can briefly describe what it is you do, AND make sure to tell them what it is they’ll gain because they visited your booth.

Use a call to action system to track results, and be sure to use encouraging words such as: DO, SEE, GET, & LEARN to entice the reader to add your booth to their Event Planner Expo show agenda.

Here is an example of how to write a good 50-word post:

“Are you sick and tired of poor quality trade show leads? Come and meet with the industry’s most effective exhibiting staff and learn about our training program! Take our quick quiz to see where your staffing knowledge can use some help. Get a free giveaway for visiting us!”

In just 47 words, the reader will learn about a specific problem you can help them resolve. They know exactly what you do AND they know exactly what they will get out of visiting our booth. Short and direct. This is how to get someone to put you on their to do list for The Event Planner Expo!
