Planning Your Big Day with a Simple Wedding Checklist: 5 Things That You Should Do

Planning a wedding can be taxing. Don't fret, here's a checklist that can help!

1. Choose a Venue

Assuming that you've already picked a date, the next step is to choose a venue. Keep in mind your budget—some places will be costlier than others.

Want something affordable? Consider a beach wedding. Not only do they require very little effort, but you'll be surrounded by natural beauty!

2. Make a Guest List

The sooner you make your list, the sooner you'll be able to send out your save-the-dates.

There are a few things to consider when you're putting together your guest list—one of the most important being your venue. Ask yourself, "how many people will be able to fit comfortably?"

Don't forget to consider your budget as well—it will likely determine the number of guests that you can invite.

3. Decide Your Theme

Choosing a wedding theme can be difficult. If anything, you want it to match your venue. The last thing that you'd want is for the two things to clash!

What kind of colors do you want to go for? What type of decorations would look nice? These are some of the questions that you want to ask yourself when you're deciding.

4. Choose a Caterer

Your wedding will likely be the biggest party of your life. Considering that, it only makes sense to get some good food.

With that said, it can be challenging when you have to feed over 100 people! Do your research—see what the catering options are around you.

Working with a wedding planner? If so, you can always ask them for recommendations.

5. Write Your Vows

Wedding vows are important—they allow the couple to express their love and commitment for one another. Given that, you want to give them some thought.

It's probably not a good idea to just "wing it"!

Not sure how to write yours? There are many templates out there that can help!

Getting Ready for Your Big Day

And there we have it—a simple wedding checklist that'll hopefully take some stress off your shoulders. Of course, you don't necessarily have to do everything in that order.

Remember, planning your big day doesn't have to be stressful—have fun with it!
