Get Ready for Restaurant Week in NYC!

June 30, 2022 Desiree Homer

One of the most iconic celebrations in New York City is Restaurant Week. It’s the city’s OG culinary event, whereby participants can sample and explore the area’s top restaurants. There will be exclusive deals announced in the coming few weeks. But this summer's tour of restaurants is slated to take place from July 18 to August 21 across all five boroughs. There will be hundreds of restaurants participating this summer. And July 6 marks the date to begin viewing menus and booking your reservations. Here’s what else you can get excited about and expect with this mouth-watering week of food appreciation.

It's a Commemorative and Historical Event

Don’t just sample New York City fare and flavors; you’ll also be getting a little taste of history when you join in the fun that is Restaurant Week. It’s the world’s absolute first of its kind, having debuted back in 1992. Back then, it was intended to be a one-time welcome event for the Democratic National Convention that came to New York City. But it garnered such support and local enthusiasm that it has continued on ever since, welcoming New Yorkers and tourists alike to some of the best restaurants across all five boroughs.

Tips for Making the Most of Your Restaurant Week Experience

You’ll have a whole week to try and get to every participating restaurant, but it’ll be a tall order with so many taking part this year. So, how can you make the most of every experience and ensure you get a chance to sample new mouth-watering dishes and extras? Here are some tips the veteran Restaurant Week warriors suggest you follow:

Instagrammable moments abound: Restaurant Week is usually popular on Insta. Follow #NYCRestaurantWeek to see what others are raving about and share your experiences for others, as well.

Try booking a table for lunch: Reservations go quickly for the evening dinners. But you’ll have a better chance of getting into some of your favorites if you’re open for lunch dining.

Make a plan: Restaurant Week is incredibly popular, and the best primetime dining hours fill up quickly. You’ll want to plan ahead, make reservations when possible, and be prepared. The delicious menus will be well worth it!

Be ready to order: NYC Go offers a comprehensive roster of Restaurant Week menu selections, so you can have an idea of what you want to order before you arrive.

Try something new: Restaurant Week may feature some of your favorite hotspots for dinner, but now’s the time to expand your horizons and try something new! Be brave and sample it all!

Explore your drink options: Don’t forget that Restaurant Week also presents incredible opportunities to sample new drinks, beverages, and specialty cocktails.

What Deals Are Going to Be Available?

During the winter program earlier this year, NYC Go mentions the $29, $39, and $59 price options. Participating restaurants may extend similar packages this summer, but it won’t be confirmed officially until early July. The great benefit of having so many establishments taking part in this weeklong celebration is that guests will have more pricing and dining options from which to choose. Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to the big week.

Get ready for Restaurant Week and start making plans with your favorite people. You’ll love the atmosphere and excitement of the best restaurants, the most talked-about dishes, and fun summer fare.

Remember, too, that The Event Planner Expo 2022 will also be here before you know it. And you’ll want to plan ahead, especially if you need information about sponsorship and exhibitor availability. Contact us to get all the details!
