Celebrating Irish heritage and pride on St. Patrick's Day has been a cherished tradition in New York City for over 200 years. While many think the first parade took place in Ireland, it was actually NYC that pioneered the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in 1762. Today, it's the largest and oldest St. Patrick’s Day parade in the world, with more than 150,000 marchers and over two million spectators.
