Summer in New York City means one thing for music and culture lovers: the return of Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage. Now in its 39th season, this beloved outdoor festival is bringing the beats back to all five boroughs with over 70 shows lighting up 13 neighborhood parks from June through October.

Whether you’re into salsa, hip-hop, indie rock, opera, jazz, or global sounds, SummerStage is a celebration of the city’s rich cultural mix. It’s equal parts block party, world tour, and front-row experience.

We take a look at what’s happening in Central Park. Here’s what you need to know before heading out.

Quick Logistics for SummerStage in Central Park

Where is it?

  • Main stage: Rumsey Playfield, Central Park (E 71st St and East Drive.)
  • Other shows: 13 parks citywide in all five boroughs.

When is it?

  • June to October 2025.
  • Central Park & Coney Island: doors open 1 hour before showtime.

Do I need tickets?

  • Free shows: No tickets or RSVPs needed (first come, first served.)
  • Benefit Concerts: Yes. Tickets are required via Ticketmaster.com or the SummerStage website.

What about food & drinks?

  • Central Park: Food & drinks available (cash/credit accepted.)
  • Alcohol: 21+ with valid ID, limit 2 drinks per person.

Suggested donation?

  • $5 at Central Park free shows, supporting City Parks Foundation.
