NYC’s Holiday Markets Are Open for the Season
Holiday shopping in NYC can be an adventure all its own. You might head out looking for one specific gift and come home with something completely different. Maybe it’s a handmade necklace, a treat you ate before you even made it to the next booth, or a find so good you almost want to keep it for yourself. That’s part of the fun of the city’s holiday markets. And NYC has some good ones.
Bryant Park Winter Village
October 28th, 2026 through January 3rd, 2027
If your ideal holiday outing includes shopping, ice skating, and a snack break, add Bryant Park Winter Village to your list. More than 180 vendors fill the park’s custom-designed kiosks with artisan gifts, jewelry, crafts, and specialty foods. After you’ve tackled your gift list, lace up your skates or grab something seasonal to eat. Midtown is full of holiday magic, but this little corner makes a strong case for an afternoon outdoors.
Union Square Holiday Market
Typically mid-November through Christmas Eve
For the person who loves a gift that feels personal, Union Square Holiday Market is a great place to start. The market dates back to 1993 and champions independent makers, artists, and small businesses. Browse handmade jewelry, original artwork, accessories, and unique finds that feel a little more special than another gift card. You might arrive with a very specific shopping list and leave with three gifts you never knew existed. That’s half the fun.
Grand Central Holiday Fair
November 9th through December 24th, 2026
Grand Central’s Vanderbilt Hall gets a seasonal makeover for this indoor artisan market. The historic Beaux-Arts space provides a lovely backdrop for stalls that sell jewelry, knitwear, pottery, artwork, ornaments, and home goods. It’s also a smart stop when the weather refuses to cooperate with your outdoor shopping plans. Pop in for a few gifts, then take a moment to appreciate the gorgeous terminal around you.
Columbus Circle Holiday Market
Typically early December through the end of the month
Located near the southwest entrance to Central Park, Columbus Circle Holiday Market makes a festive stop before or after a park stroll. More than 100 booths showcase artisan gifts, jewelry, home decor, specialty foods, and sweet seasonal treats. It’s a good spot to hunt for a small surprise or pick up something delicious for the walk. If your holiday plans include a little Central Park sightseeing, add this market to the itinerary.
FAD Market
November 30th through December 20th in Dumbo, plus December weekend pop-ups in Cobble Hill
Brooklyn gets its own holiday shopping spotlight at FAD Market, short for Fashion, Art and Design. Independent makers and designers sell everything from ceramics and apparel to jewelry, bath products, home decor, and artisanal food. The Dumbo market features a rotating roster, so different weekends bring new names to browse. FAD also hosts weekend markets in Cobble Hill, which gives shoppers another reason to explore Brooklyn’s local creative scene. Admission is free.
So grab a friend, bring your shopping list (or don’t), and make a day of it. You never know what you’ll find at a holiday market in NYC. Just try to leave a little room in your bags. You might need it.
