5 Ways to Use Social Media for Event Promotion

Why not promote your event with one of these methods?

1. Create a Facebook Event Page

Facebook event pages are great for several reasons. For one thing, it's super convenient. It only takes a few minutes to set up.

Second of all, it allows you to track RSVPs—that way, you'll have a general idea of how many people to expect, which should make your planning easier.

Last but not least, you can use it to encourage networking before the event.

2. Host a Contest

Social media is vital for event promotion—there's no doubt about that. Sometimes, however, you have to rely on others to spread the word for you.

You can easily do this by hosting a contest.

Offer a small prize as an incentive and ask people to share your event page on social media. Chances are, they will.

You'd be surprised just how effective it can be!

3. Launch an Ad Campaign

Consider launching an ad campaign if you have the funds—that will help you get your content in front of the right audience.

When it comes to the actual advertisement, you want to keep the writing short and sweet. People have short attention spans, after all.

Adding an eye-catching image or video is a good option; that way, there will be something to grab their attention with.

4. Create a Hashtag

Why not create a specialized hashtag for your event? It's easy and can enhance social buzz!

Once you've come up with something (remember to keep it short and relevant), promote it! Ideally on different social networks.

Remember, it won't do you any good if you don't actually use the hashtag.

With a little bit of luck, you'll be able to watch what's trending around your event.

5. Make a Snapchat Geofilter

Snapchat has more than 186 million active users. Considering that, it only makes sense to take advantage of it for your event.

One way to do this is by designing a Snapchat geofilter. Essentially, they're special overlays that people can use in specific locations.

As it turns out, they can be a great way to promote your event!
