How Event Professionals Get Noticed on Pinterest

September 21, 2022 Susan Serena

Are you amongst the event professionals who want to become a social media pro to grow your business? Do you want to get all the tricks and tips down to a science?

Well…it’s not all about Instagram. Pinterest is still one of the most under-utilized social networks, and yet it's also one of the most powerful ones. If you know how to use it, you can build a large following and make money from your content.

With that in mind, I'm going to share some tips for getting noticed on Pinterest.

A strong Pinterest presence gets noticed and can drive a lot of traffic to your site and social channels.

If you aren't using Pinterest, you should be. It's a visual platform where people are looking for inspiration and ideas about what to do next.

So, what does this mean for event professionals? A strong Pinterest presence can drive more traffic to your site and social channels.

Plus, it's a great way to promote your brand because of its visual nature—your followers will love seeing the things that inspire you (and them)!

Getting noticed on Pinterest is all about having great visuals and great pins.

For starters, when it comes to getting noticed on Pinterest, you need to have great visuals. And that means finding the perfect image for your pins. It also means having a great description and caption for each pin.

Once you've got that down, the next step is organizing your pins into collections and making sure they're easy to find by anyone who visits your profile page.

Use high-quality images and videos

The quality of your images is important for Pinterest. Use high-quality images that are visually appealing and easy to read. If you're using a photo from another website, always link back to the original source of the image so people can find it if they want to see it in full size or learn more about it (or even purchase it).

Make sure you:

  • Use a camera with a good lens.
  • Use a tripod.
  • Use good quality photo editing software and make sure your images are not pixelated, too small or too large.
  • Use a wide variety of images. Don't just use photos of people or products—include other types of visuals, like charts, infographics and screenshots. Make sure your boards have a good mix of images from different sources, so they don't look like spammy ads for your site.
  • Use clear, descriptive titles and explanations. Be sure to include keywords in your descriptions.

Keep in mind that the best way to earn more repins is by having quality content. You can also increase your chances of getting repins by following Pinterest users who are likely to be interested in your type of content (for example, if you create recipes, follow food bloggers).

Start pinning content that will attract your target audience.

Pinterest is a visual platform, so it's important to start pinning content that will attract your target audience. You can do this by using the right keywords, targeting your audience and using hashtags.

You should also make sure you're pinning relevant content for your audience's interests, as well as using Pinterest’s search function to find pins that have already been pinned by other people in the same niche or industry (or even on a similar topic).

Additionally, Pinterest analytics will help you see what's actually working and what isn't when it comes to attracting new followers and increasing traffic on your site or blog.

Add your website to your Pinterest presence.

You can also add your website to your Pinterest presence. Add a link to your website in the About section of your profile and include it on each pin. To make this easy, you can use the "Pin It" button on your website to add Pinterest images directly to the post. Here’s how you’d do that:

  • Click on the Pin It button located on any image or video in a blog post (it looks like a pin with white dots around it).
  • Enter a description for the image, if necessary, then click Save Changes.

Don't forget to add a description to the images you pin.

In addition to the image itself, event professionals can also use the description box to provide additional information about an image or product. The description should be short (no more than 150 characters) and informative, but don't include keywords in it.

Don't forget to change your descriptions from pin to pin so that they're unique. If you want people who land on one of your boards or pins for specific reasons (for example, if you post décor tips and tricks), then make it clear how those things relate to each other by adding links where appropriate and using synonyms for words that might otherwise seem repetitive or redundant.

Use hashtags that are relevant to the subject matter of your pin, but don't go overboard with them (you don't want it to look spammy).

Use hashtags on your Pinterest pins to make them easier to find and discover. Use the same hashtags that you use on other social media channels but be sure to add a few more of your own as well.

Apply the same hashtags you used on your Pinterest pin on your other social media profiles when posting the same image or video elsewhere. The more people who can find your pins, the better!

Also include hashtags in your Pinterest bio to make it easier for people to find you. If someone is looking for a specific topic on Pinterest, they'll be able to click on your bio and see all of the boards that relate to that topic.

Conclusion

It’s time to get noticed on Pinterest! Follow these tips and you’ll be well on your way to making a name for yourself in the world of Pinterest.
