6 Ways to Ensure Your Event Planning Business Ends 2022 Strong

September 7, 2022 Jessica Stewart

The fall event planning season is here. And as we head into the Q3 and Q4 of the year, you’ll want to evaluate your company's progress. As a New York event professional, you have year-end goals you’re hoping to meet and bottom-line objectives to hit. It's time to evaluate your pace and trajectory. And if you’re interested in what steps you should be taking now to finish the year strong, keep reading. At the final leg of the race, it’s time to kick things into gear and push for a first-place finish.

1. Identify Where You Are First and Where You Need to Be

It’s always best to take stock of where your business is now. Consider conducting a pulse check on your company’s progress so far in 2022. Revisit your original goals, set earlier in the year, and plot how close you are to meeting or exceeding those goals. With an understanding of your current positioning, you can better plan a strategy for a strong year-end finish. Look at the metrics for:

  • Your company’s revenue and sales goals
  • Your company’s brand engagement and awareness
  • Your company’s social media presence and following
  • Your company’s niche segment growth

2. Boost Sales and Marketing Efforts

Compare your current sales and marketing plans with your intended year-end goals. How far away are you? How many new clients do you need to sign to hit those numbers come December 31st? And what’s in your sales funnels now to project your growth? Evaluating these efforts now will allow you to make the changes and incorporate the boosts you need to ad spend, sales engagements, and revenue generation. ‘Tis the season to incorporate incentives and rewards, too, for new clients and your teams ready to meet the challenge of a big year-end finish.

3. Eye on the Prize

With your current positioning data in hand and goals for the end of the year, you can begin to develop a more focused strategy for the finish line. Don’t allow yourself to get distracted, however. It’s also an event business’ busy season. Keep your eye fixed on the goals you need to achieve financially, growth-wise, and companywide. Lay in specific roadmaps to help you get there, including:

  • Revised weekly and monthly marketing boosts
  • Lead generation
  • Sales calls and funnel management goals
  • Networking engagements

4. Be Selective and Focused About How You Spend Your Time

It’s entirely possible that not all of your year-end goals will be achievable. And that’s ok so long as you recognize it now. You can then be selective about the few goals you can reach with a realistic plan. Hone your efforts to achieve the objectives you can. Focus on what’s attainable, and remember, some progress is better than no progress. And spreading yourself too thin and trying to do it all will result in not hitting any of your goals.

5. Attend The Event Planner Expo 2022

If you really want to finish the year strong, get your tickets to The Event Planner Expo 2022 this October.
