Get Vintage and Explore the 2026 Bus Festival

Honk if this sounds like your kind of Saturday. The New York Transit Museum Bus Festival rolls into Brooklyn Bridge Park on Saturday, September 19, 2026, bringing a fleet of vintage vehicles to Emily Warren Roebling Plaza.

Presented by the New York Transit Museum and MTA New York City Transit, the free festival gives visitors a chance to climb aboard historic buses and see how NYC’s fleet has evolved over the decades. The Manhattan skyline makes a pretty spectacular backdrop while you’re exploring, too.

This year’s event runs 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM, rain or shine, with activities for all ages and opportunities to meet some of the people who keep New York moving. The museum’s announced lineup includes historic vehicles such as “Betsy,” a 1931 double-decker bus that was part of the Fifth Avenue Coach fleet. Buses and equipment are subject to change.

Admission is free, and advance registration is encouraged but isn’t required. Registered guests are also entered into a raffle for a chance to win a New York Transit Museum Dual/Household Membership.

Register for the 2026 Bus Festival.
