The Bronx Zoo Hosts Boo at the Zoo

Boo at the Zoo brings Halloween fun to the Bronx Zoo on weekends from September 26th through November 1st, plus Monday, October 12th. The daytime celebration is geared toward toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary-aged kids, so families can enjoy Halloween activities, plus a full day of wildlife exhibits and animal encounters. Admission to Boo at the Zoo is included with Bronx Zoo admission, and it’s free for members.

Halloween Fun at The Bronx Zoo

The new Hay Maze & Challenge Trail gives kids a wildlife-inspired obstacle course to tackle. They can climb, crawl, balance, jump, and explore along the way. Animal Chats take place throughout the day and cover tigers, crocodiles, snakes, bears, owls, and vultures.

There’s plenty of classic Halloween fun, too. Kids can make spooky creature puppets, get free face painting, follow the Candy Trail, and check out giant animal pumpkin displays. The Costume Parade takes place four times each day, followed by a Boo Dance Party with music, games, and bubbles.

The Wildlife Theater also has a new show this year, “The Tale de los Animales Who Are No More.” A spooky animal puppet cast joins Bruja Alma for a story about extinct animals. Families can also visit the Extinct Animal Graveyard for a little Halloween-themed wildlife education.
