How to Unleash Your Event Planner Magic

As a professional New York Event Planner, you know that the magic of your job is not just in executing events on time and within budget.

You also create the ambiance that makes an event memorable for everyone involved. This requires a creative element that goes beyond simply choosing colors for linens and tableware.

In this blog post, we’ll show you how to unleash your own creative energies so you can create truly remarkable events. To start with, let's walk through three steps toward unleashing your creativity!

Step 1 - Discover

It's time to dig into the details. So I'll ask you the questions that will lead you to a deeper understanding of what makes your clients tick.

This is the first step toward unleashing your creativity because it allows you to tap into your client's mindset and anticipate their needs.

For example, if they're hosting a corporate event for leads from other companies, you'll want to know what types of people will be attending (industry professionals or first-time buyers?).

You must ask yourself the following questions.

  • Understand the event concept: What is the purpose of this particular event? What is your end goal? Why are you putting on a party, rally, or concert?
  • Understand the event purpose: Who is this event for and what do they want out of it? Are they looking for entertainment, education, or fun? What kind of experience do they want to have at your event so that it meets their needs and expectations (and has them talking about it afterwards)?
  • Understand the vision: How will this event affect people in their lives and how will they feel once they attend it? Will it make them laugh, cry, or feel inspired by what you offer? What do you want people taking away from having been present at this event?

Step 2 - Define

Now that you have a sense of your event’s scope, let’s get down to brass tacks: defining the purpose and audience for your event.

This step is all about identifying the key elements of your concept. The purpose and audience are not just important because they inform your design decisions, but also because they help you sell your idea to clients, venues, and sponsors. All of which can make or break an event’s success.

Whether you’re a New York Event Planner who wants to host a corporate conference for 1,000 people or throw a backyard birthday party for 20 kids, you need to know who you’re catering to and what they want.

To begin this process, evaluate your client’s goals for the event and brainstorm ways to achieve them through creative ways of engaging attendees.

If you’re planning a corporate event, you want to make sure that your attendees are inspired and motivated by the experience.

If you’re hosting a wedding reception, then it’s important that guests feel welcome and comfortable while they celebrate with each other.

And when organizing a festival or street fair, it helps if people have fun while learning something new about your brand or cause.

Step 3 - Design

As an New York Event Planner, you’re not just responsible for coordinating the logistical elements of your event. You also have to create an experience that perfectly reflects the vision of your client or brand.

To do this, you need a clear vision of what the event concept is and how it will be brought to life through design.

This process can involve creating everything from logos and invitations to websites and social media graphics.

Here are some tips on how best to approach this third step in your planning process:

·        Be inspired by nature. Nature is one of the most beautiful things we experience in our lives; so why not look toward it for inspiration? If a client wants a rustic feel for their wedding reception decor, take cues from nature for what materials would work best (like wood) as well as colors (think browns and greens).

·        Work collaboratively with other team members throughout this phase. A good designer knows that every element should complement each other seamlessly throughout an entire project. So, if you find yourself overwhelmed by all these new ideas floating around in your head, don’t hesitate to bring in help!

At the end of this process, a New York Event Planner should have creative event elements that reflect your client’s event concept.
