Philippe Chow Opens New Doors in the Meatpacking District

New York City Presents Philippe Chow, a Beijing Cuisine Restaurant in the Meatpacking District.

Known as Manhattan’s Upper East Side staple, the Beijing-styled Philippe Chow Restaurant has now opened their new doors in the Meatpacking District. Philippe Chow is notorious for serving everyone from the top socialites to celebrities such as Jay-Z and Justin Bieber. Now they’re ready to surmount an entirely different type of crowd - the patrons at Downtown Manhattan’s Dream Hotel.

The Venue:

Chef Philippe Chow has assured the public that he will bring the identical menu of preeminent Beijing dishes downtown, but contrasting the quiet Upper East Side original, this NYC venue is expected to convert into a pre- or post-party hotspot. Matching Meatpacking’s social life scene, the big dining space is equipped with a grand, gold-covered DJ Booth, that will bring guests a revolving line-up of DJs to set the tone, while their private party room is ideal for those Event Planners in New York City who are looking for a more exclusive experience for their clients.

The Cuisine:

Event Planners in NYC can expect to taste some crowd-pleasing cuisine that will impress foodies at Philippe Chow’s, with dishes like their carved table side Peking duck (served with pancakes), Mr. Cheng’s hand-pulled noodles (topped with the chef’s signature ground pork sauce), and salt and pepper lobster. Dim Sum is splashed on the menu too, with options like steamed crystal dumplings or crispy Peking Duck spring rolls.

Chef Terri Dreisbach oversees the desserts, serving extravagant sweet concepts such as the cotton candy-covered Baked Alaska, lit on fire for good measure, or their dark chocolate pound cake that’s dressed up with gelatin balloons and an over-the-top sparkler.

Beverages:

Besides the wide range of exclusive red and white wines, Philippe Chow offers Asian-enthused beverage concoctions like their delicious lychee Martini and the infamous “Red Dragon Rose” Sangria.

Price Range:

Small plates will range anywhere between $10 and $22; main dishes are estimated at around $34.

The Bottom Line:

Philippe Chow will be serving their signature, family-style carte du jour of Chinese cookery that has been known and loved by Event Planners in NYC since 2005. Philippe Chow has established quite a following over the past 10 years plus, and the new Downtown location is expected to bring in more of a buzzing atmosphere to guests – both old and new.
